Cooperative sponsors $2.36 million loan

Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative sponsored a $2.36 million zero-interest loan through USDA’s nationally competitive Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program for the new Mulberry Health Clinic in Muscatine, IA.  The clinic is owned by the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine and operated by UnityPoint Health.  This USDA program provides funding for projects that create and retain employment in rural areas.  The Cooperative is a proud supporter of projects that benefit the rural communities our members belong to.  A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on October 3rd and patients were able to start seeing providers at the new clinic the following week. Shown from the left are Cooperative Economic Development Director Stephanie Miene, Directors Ken Purdy, Kathy Wunderlich, Mike Shuger, Bradlye Weiss and Robert Schneider Jr.
