Eastern Iowa REC supports economic growth by providing reliable energy, infrastructure support, and business development resources. The cooperative works with local businesses, communities, and organizations to promote job creation, investment opportunities, and sustainable growth.

Through grant programs, partnerships, and energy efficiency initiatives, the cooperative helps strengthen the local economy while ensuring businesses and industries have access to affordable and dependable power.

We'll make electricity work for your business

Eastern Iowa REC recognizes our service territory is a diverse and growing business community. We strive to bring new businesses and industries to our region, and we work to support the growth and expansion of our existing business members.

The Cooperative works to bring new businesses and industries to our region while supporting the growth of existing business members.  Eastern Iowa REC can assist with locating a site for commercial or industrial development, identify energy efficiency rebates available to businesses, and sponsor applications to USDA’s Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program. 

USDA’s Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program offers 0%, 10-year loans for qualifying projects that create or retain rural jobs.

Eastern Iowa REC also administers a revolving loan fund to aid organizations with low-interest funding for industrial or commercial development, business expansions or startups, community facilities and infrastructure, medical facilities, training or educational facilities and tourism.

J.J. Nichting Loan

J.J. Nichting, West Liberty, IA, received a $1 million Rural Economic Development Loan for a new farm implement location which is served by Eastern Iowa REC.

Mulberry Health

Mulberry Halth Clinic, Muscatine, IA, received a $2 million Rural Economic Development Loan and a $360,000 Rural Economic Development Grant.

Wilton Dental

Wilton Dental, Wilton, IA received a $360,000 Rural Economic Development Grant.
