Eastern Iowa REC maintains transparent fees and charges to support reliable service. Common charges include energy usage (kWh), a facilities charge, and potential late payment, reconnect, or returned payment fees.

When you sign up for electric service with Eastern Iowa REC, a credit check is done, but is considered a soft hit and does not affect your credit rating. If your credit is not approved, a meter deposit equal to the highest bill in a 12 month period at the location for which service is requested will be charged. After your account is paid in full by the due date for 12 consecutive months, the meter deposit will be applied to your account as a credit.

Membership Fee

A $10 fee will be paid when application for service is made and will be refunded when service is terminated.
