Eastern Iowa REC is committed to strengthening the communities it serves through education, outreach, and support programs. 

The cooperative actively invests in scholarships, economic development, local events, and youth programs to foster growth and opportunity.

Through initiatives like the Youth Tour, STEAM grants, and community partnerships, the cooperative encourages leadership and innovation.

Mulberry Health Clinic Ribbon Cutting

Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative sponsored a $2.36 million zero-interest loan through USDA’s nationally competitive Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program for the new Mulberry Health Clinic in Muscatine, IA.  The clinic is owned by the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine and operated by UnityPoint Health.  This USDA program provides funding for projects that create and retain employment in rural areas.  The Cooperative is a proud supporter of projects that benefit the rural communities our members belong to.  A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on October 3rd and patients were able to start seeing providers at the new clinic the following week.

DeWitt Family Practice Groundbreaking

Eastern Iowa REC sponsored a $1.2 million zero-interest loan through USDA’s Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program for the new DeWitt Family Practice healthcare clinic.
