Renewable Energy

Eastern Iowa REC Renewable Energy Programs

Eastern Iowa REC members can purchase energy generated from renewable resources. This program is made possible through a contract signed by the Cooperative’s wholesale power supplier, Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO), to purchase 2 MW of power from a wind farm in northern Iowa.

Wind energy provided under this program will be billed at your normal rate, plus a small  additional charge ($2.50 per block) to cover the added cost of acquiring this renewable resource. We will sell wind generated electric energy in 100 kilowatt-hour (KWH) blocks.

An investment in clean sources of power is an investment in the future and helps build a cleaner environment.

To take part in the Eastern Iowa REC Renewable Energy Program contact the Cooperative by telephone, toll free, 1-800-728-1242, or via e-mail at info@easterniowa.com.
